Last Wednesday was National Girls and Women in Sports Day. It’s a time to remember and celebrate the achievements of women in athletics and to encourage girls to begin or continue their participation. I was so pleased to see all the Tweets, Instagram posts and Facebook mentions from women’s athletic programs from around the country – particularly lacrosse. Having a daughter that has participated and enjoyed sports from an early age made this day more special – this year especially, as she begins her collegiate career in lacrosse and golf. I posted on Feb. 3 that I was so proud of my daughter – it is so, so true. I wish her and her Concordia lacrosse team the very best this season – stay healthy and reach all your goals.
